We are so grateful for the opportunity to serve those in our care, and appreciate the kind words from them and their loved ones.
I was pleasantly surprised when I had to bring my mom here after a fall and she broke her pelvis. Alexandria Care Center was absolutely a caring and lovely place. The staff especially Olga and Sarah took very good care of my mom and all the rest of the staff from the Physical Therapists and nurses and administrators were all very good at what they do. They are all heroes in my book. Thank you all for a wonderful experience going through this challenging ordeal with my mother.
My mother was just a patient at Alexandria Care Center two weeks ago. At first she was naturally very afraid of being in a nursing home. During her stay everyone was very caring and kind. She recovered from her hip replacement surgery quickly enough to go home in a relatively short time. When she was getting ready to go home she said “anyone would be lucky to do rehab here.”
Thank you, Alexandria Care Center!
From the front desk to station 1 nurses to CNAs and housekeeper staff. Everybody who worked for everything did a great job. My mother is 89 y.o. she had 3 little fractures after she suffered a stroke in 2020, she doesn’t speak much so a miracle happened in this particular center. She’s talking now again, and she’s walking, she’s very happy with everybody. She doesn’t understand English but she understands everybody now. All nurses treated her like their own mother. So great job done by this center. I really appreciate all the help you’ve done for my mom. Thanks very much again!
I was severely injured and was transferred from a hospital to Alexandria to get through 6 weeks in full-size casts on both legs and a fractured right shoulder. I have never before experienced the uncompromised compassion delivered to the residents of Alexandria. I’m leaving soon, healed up and to continue my life. As a good person, I stand humbled.
My mom was transferred to this facility from another facility, and I must say this facility was a significant improvement from the facility she was transferred from. My mom was recovering from a hip fracture and stayed here for 9 days.
The facility is remodeled, there is housekeeping cleaning the rooms and making the beds for the patients, the facility also has a calendar of monthly activities for patients, and there is a clothes cleaning service. Patients who are mobile are taken to the common dining room to eat while they listen to lively music playing in the background, and the activities are also held in the dining room. During my visit, I watched a movie in the dining room with my mom, and on another day, my nieces joined in on a Mexican lottery game. On the days that I was there, I did not observe anything unusual but had a positive experience. My mom’s room did not have a TV, which she liked because was able to rest more and read.
In terms of care, my mom said she had a positive experience. The nurses and CNAs were helpful and friendly to her and helped her in her recovery. I noticed in general that the staff were empathic to the patients. The food for the patients is tailored to their needs, they just have to the staff what they like and don’t like. The nurses and CNA staff that I interacted with her very helpful.
Independent of where you or your relative go, don’t just leave them there alone. They need an advocate, and the family becomes the advocate to get the care and services they need. The facility staff needs to know that there are family members who care and will fight for them and are keeping an eye out.
The staff at Alexandria Care has taken such good care of my brother and his complex health issues.
The nurses really care and they do their best to jump on every request families bring to them.
There have been a few emergencies (because of his complex health problems) with my brother while he’s been there and they have not hesitated once to let us know what’s going on and quickly aid him.
They are constantly answering our questions about labs and plan of care etc in a warm friendly way.
Everyone has exceeded our expectations at this nursing home. It was really scary to leave him in a nursing home at the beginning given that nursing homes have gotten such bad publicity. We were all very sad when it came to this and were expecting it to be a bad experience but day after day they continued to prove us wrong. From the get-go, we started to talk to administration people who all were the opposite of what you hear nursing home admin people are like. Even their HR person John told us about their expansion in staff and how he really wanted to find nurses and staff who are more important than anything else – CARE and have humanity and it shows. They have a very large staff and everyone is so friendly and helpful.
From the friendly front office desk staff such as Ana who treats the residents there who hang out in the lobby with such respect and warmth. The nurses, Olga, Lisa, Florence, John Antonio, and Yessica – have all been so patient and professional with making sure my brother’s IV line medicines don’t get interrupted and that my brother who is disabled gets baths and is cleaned up when he needs it.
Also, I have to mention how impressed my family and I have been at their amazing Physical Therapy Department – my brother who almost died twice in the Intensive Care has been bed-bound for 5 months now and this physical therapy staff at Alexandria Care has been motivating him to get out of bed little by little at his pace and finally, just as a few days ago they were able to bring him to the point where he is standing up out of bed for a few seconds with assistance. They are so sweet and so motivating saying things to him constantly to help him believe in himself again and that if he keeps at it they will continue to work with him to get him to walk again.
Myra the physical therapist and Esther and Jake the Occupational Therapists and all the others who have helped my brother have been so transformative. Steven who heads the Physical Therapy program there is always so willing to move around schedules to try and accommodate PT when we ask for it and when my brother is at his best to participate.
I highly recommend this nursing home to anyone who needs it. They are also very big into family involvement and from the beginning, we have been there for my brother and have witnessed how much care and dignity he has gotten at Alexandria Care.
I felt it necessary to post our experience with Alexandria. My Grandmother was here for two weeks after a bad fall. In that time, she was cared for very well. Every time any of us called to speak with her, we were connected immediately. The staff was always courteous and friendly in person and over the phone. Her room was kept clean, she was kept clean and when any of us went to visit, we felt welcomed. They even offered and fed my Grandfather meals while he was visiting her. Her physical therapy went very well. She is now walking and able to get in and out of bed with minimal assistance. Her doctors and physical therapist updated us on her progress throughout her stay. I was very pleased with her care. I’m grateful to Alexandria and their staff.
